Daily Prompt: 2100
http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2013/09/26/daily-prompt-future-2/
The language of the future: what will it be like? Write an experimental post using some imagined vocabulary — abbreviations, slang, new terms.

Ah, why would daily prompt give us this challenge? Seriously? Like the imaginary language these days isn’t bad enough ?
Imagined vocabulary ? Like the vocabulary today, distorted by the so called SWAGGERS isn’t enough ?
I sincerely hope that through this challenge some new word doesn’t take life and get viral on the Internet, making our lives miserable.
‘SUP ? This is how some baggy-pants-hanging-down-their-asses guys and gals ask each other of their day. I mean seriously??? You can’t just say HEY or HI or How are you, how was your day,how are you doing or even just simple Whats up? would suffice.
But NO, they have to say it like : ‘SUP !
Then there is HBD . Really? I mean really?
Is it so hard to write three words ? Happy Birth Day ? Does this really take so much of your energy that you just have to retort to saying HBD ?
OH MY GOD, here comes YOLO !!!
I don’t even want to talk about the absurdity of this. This is a word which was invented for stupid people to give them a chance to DO stupid things!
They jump out of a running car, from the top of a roof, swing from the chandelier, run around the neighborhood naked or across the whole room and then fall on their bums breaking a bone or two chanting YOLO !
I can go on and on and on about the trending vocab these days and daily prompt wants us to give a glimpse of a future as well ?
Uhm…NO thank you !
I’ll not take part in committing crime against the humanity by destroying the little left dignity of this beautiful language.

You have my vote here.
English is butchered already with words like “srsly” and “OMG” added to the dictionary.
P.S : I never heard of HBD until now !

I know right?! Thank you !
And I don’t know why you didn’t come across it before but HBD has been roaming internet with more speed than Justin Bieber’s Ferrari these days! 😛

Yes if you think about it, HBD is 3 syllables whereas Happy Birthday is 4, so you arent’t even saving much time. You are just trying to look cool. And if the word cool is no longer in then it shows I am not cool, either!! Who needs to keep up anyway?

Exactly, you are so right!

Actually, those aren’t the language of the future because we’ve seen them in the present time already! 😀
Anyway I’m currently running a little campaign about teenage suicide prevention called #reasons2live and I need your help! Please visit my blog for more details 🙂

Well i didn’t mean to write the language of future as I’ve mentioned it in my post. I don’t support this slang thing.
And yes of course, I’ll give your blog a visit 🙂

My favorite thing to do is write and arrange words in a way that gives them power, humor, or meaning and when they shorten or change words so much that no one can understand them, it just shows that people don’t care about the words. Save the words! Make LOL go extinct since it so rarely means what people use it as.

Yes you are right. And you said “they change words so much that no one can understand them” but the thing is that people DO understand them, worst part is they promote it as well 😐

LOL I too have had enough of slangs! in time people probably won’t even know how to spell anything correctly because of them. :O
